Painters, decorators and renovators working across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire. We take on the awkward Victorian walls and woodwork other trades turn down — and we advise you on colour, materials and design at every step.

Who we are
We’re Edyta and Marek — a family business with over 20 years of experience in joinery, kitchen fitting, plastering, tiling and painting & decorating.
Being family-run is the whole point. The people who quote your job are the people who turn up and do it, and who you speak to if anything needs putting right. Nothing is passed down a chain of subcontractors.
Flexible working times — we generally start at 8:00am and are available on Saturdays. Free written quotation for any interior or exterior work.

Our speciality
Old houses don’t behave. Walls move, plaster blows, woodwork carries forty years of paint and nothing is square. A quick coat over the top of that lasts a season.
We prepare properly first — stripping, filling, stabilising and repairing until the surface is genuinely sound. It’s slower, it’s the unglamorous half of the job, and it is the entire difference between a finish that holds and one that doesn’t.
We provide good solutions for complicated jobs in old Victorian houses, where walls and woodwork need real preparation before painting.
Why us
Colour, materials, finishes, design. We help you decide before you commit — not just quote and disappear.
Victorian and conservation-area work is most of what we do. The difficult preparation is routine for us.
Rated 5.0 across 82 MyBuilder reviews and 4.8 across 50 Google reviews.
Panelling, joinery, plastering, tiling and decorating from one company. No gaps between trades for problems to hide in.
Mostly homes, but we take on commercial projects too — offices, lettings and premises work.
A realistic duration up front, and early warning if anything changes it. No open-ended jobs.
Our work
Every photograph below is our own work, in real homes across the East Midlands.

How we work
A genuine sequence — each stage has to happen before the next one can.
We visit, look at the property, measure up and listen to what you want out of it.
The part people find hardest. We go through the options and recommend what suits the building.
Itemised, with a realistic duration and start date. You know the cost before anyone picks up a tool.
Stripping, filling, repairing, stabilising. On period property this is the bulk of the work.
Carried out to the agreed schedule, dust managed, and tidied at the end of every day.
We walk the job with you and put right anything you’re not happy with before calling it finished.

Fantastic restoration work on my garage doors. Edyta did the most amazing job, sanding and staining my doors. They look like new again. Edyta worked so hard doing an extremely professional job. I’m 100% going to use Art4Deco for all my future painting jobs. Thank you so much Edyta
Marek and Edyta did a lovely job painting my open plan kitchen living room plus hallway. The colours are exactly as I chose and look fantastic. I needed washable paint because of owning a large golden retriever who loves to roll in mud! Marek and Edyta ensured everywhere was prepared, cleaned, and ready for painting with a washable paint. They estimated 3.5 days to complete. I moved out to give them full access without being in the way. They finished in 2 days because they stayed late each night to ensure it would be finished. So happy with the result. Would highly recommend art Deco. They cleaned up afterwards completely.
Very good workmanship. Courteous genuine people. Pleasure to work with. Would recommend
Edyta and Marek are wonderful to work with and have a deep understanding of their work and are thoroughly professional. They were great in advising us on not only the technical aspects of paint but also have a keen aesthetic sense. They did a wonderful job painting our house and will definitely take their help in other decorating projects in the future too.
We received an amazing service from Art 4 Deco. They supported us with the renovation of our living room and dining room in a timely manner. They took care of the painting of our walls, ceilings, skirting boards and fireplaces. The quality of their work make it an amazing result. We will definitely work with them for future renovation projects in our Victorian home.

Lovely couple and great work. We recommend Edyta and Marek (in fact I’ve already shared their number with friends and family) and will be calling them again to fix some other bits and bobs around the house If you want a job well done with nice people you can trust, Art4Deco is just what you are after.
Marek did a great job painting the stairs, bannisters and fireplace. He was very attentive to details, provided info on the job and also some great decoration ideas. All looks amazing and he cleaned everything after he finished.
Did a fantastic job, absolutely professional and left everything clean and tidy would definitely recommend thank you Marek
Edyta did an excellent job with great eye for detail, not only painting two bedroom walls but repairing cracks in them as well. Look no further if you want top quality decorators, as I’d warmly recommend Marek and Edyta.
Both Marek and Edyta did an amazing job painting the exteriors of my garden room. Very professional and accommodating, would highly recommend.

FAQs
Yes — restoration in conservation areas is one of our specialities and we take on all aspects of it. We work sympathetically to keep the character of the property while bringing its condition up to standard.
Usually, yes. Blown plaster, layers of old paint, damaged mouldings and uneven surfaces are all normal in a house of that age. In most cases it needs proper preparation rather than replacement — and that preparation is exactly what we specialise in.
That’s a core part of what we offer. We advise on colour, materials, finishes and design at every step of the job, not only at the quote stage. If you’re undecided, say so on the enquiry form — it’s a good use of the first visit.
In most cases, yes — and it costs a fraction of a new kitchen. Doors and frames are cleaned, rubbed down, primed and finished in the colour you choose. Have a look at the before and after further up this page.
No. The initial consultation and the written quote are both free, with no obligation.
Yes. Most of our work is residential, but we take on commercial projects too. Mention it on the enquiry form and we’ll talk through scheduling around your opening hours.
We’re based at Radcliffe-on-Trent and most of our work falls within about 30 miles. That takes in West Bridgford, The Park, Mapperley Park, Wollaton, Ruddington, Keyworth, Bingham, Southwell and Newark; Duffield, Quarndon, Allestree, Belper, Ashbourne, Repton, Melbourne and Castle Donington; and Lincoln, Nettleham, Navenby, Branston and Grantham. Recent jobs have also taken us to Loughborough, Melton Mowbray and Peterborough, so it’s always worth asking.
It depends on scope and the condition of the property. A single room might be a few days; a panelled reception room or a full period restoration runs to several weeks. You’ll get a realistic duration in writing with your quote, before anything starts.
